Depression Era glass candy jar with pink base and ruby lid in the Old Cafe pattern. These came with a pink or crystal glass base and the lids only came in ruby glass. Old Cafe was made by the Hocking Glass Company from 1936-1940. It measures approximately 4 1/2 inches tall with the lid on and 5 1/2 inches in diameter not counting the handles. If you feel around on the inside of the inner rim of the lid you can find a couple of specks of roughness. Pretty common from both manufacturing and use on old depression glass lids and basically no impact on the piece but mentioned for accuracy. Otherwise no chips or cracks and shows little if any signs of usage or wear. This is original depression era glass and not a reproduction.
